YES the video is doing this on a hackintosh, and I'm on Windows. It Follows along the coffeelake section of the OC guide. Use maciasl + instructions in the video to build *.aml files for SSDT-PLUG, SSDT-EC-USBX, SSDT-AWACĪlso download SSDT-PMC from the OC desktop guide directly, no need to use maciasl to compile it.Ĭopy kexts to thumb drive that we're building Try following this guide for building the ACPI files: Kexts -> go in kexts folder: Lilu, VirtualSMC, SMCProcessor, SMCSuperIO, WhateverGreen, AppleALC, RealtekRTL8111, USBInjectAll, NVMeFix Use the gibMacOS tools to obtain Catalina MacOS 10.15.4 recovery imageįirmware Drives (efi) -> go in Drivers folder: ApfsDriverLoader.efi, HfsPlus.efi, OpenRuntime.efi Get: OpenCorePkg, AppleSupportPkg, ProperTree, GibMacOS (linked from OC desktop guide) I managed to compress things down, but next time allocate 60GB just to avoid headaches. Caused the gibMacOS tools to fail as they needed more working space. Note: I only allocated 40GB for Windows - I wasn't sure if I might keep the partition. Read a few things that say it's much easier to build this stuff on the actual hackintosh system that you want to buildĬlean install. Install Windows10 on the hackintosh, on the 4TB HD, set aside 40GB for it. These are my rough notes, hope this is of help to someone! The video basically follows the checklist on the web page this just gives you a visual of what is going on, which I found helpful). I mostly followed the video for when he compiled the *.aml files and also when he worked through the ist file making changes. Success with OpenCore: ("OC" from this point on)īut I also watched this video: (The guy in the video offers downloads from his website, but I always searched out the original files to be sure I had the latest. ģ/ Tried falling back to Catalina 10.15.3 and redoing the 1st, failed Lots of other little attempts over two days went nowhere. And check the Guides to make sure the cooler supports your CPU.ġ/ tried following this build guide: Failed. Check case specs carefully as it tells you how much space there is for a cpu cooler. The NH-U9S is a shorter cooler, which lets me fit it in this case which is on the narrow size. But you need to watch out for the height clearance. I wanted a quiet system so opted for the highly regarded Noctua cpu coolers. It's not as clean a cable run as I'd like. However the motherboard has the secondary power connection at the extreme top/front corner, and the power cable reaches with not much space. I like having the PSU at the bottom, which this case has. I wish they snapped into place a bit firmer. (my mistake, it does have air filters on the bottom but not on the top) It has trays for up to four 3.5" HDDs, but I do find the trays a touch loose. But it does not have any air filters, so I will be looking to add them. Seagate IronWolf 4TB NAS HD, 6Gb/S 5900rpm 64MB Cache, Silicon Power 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 SSD, Video card: Powercolor AMD Radeon Red Dragon RX580 8GB There is one weird reboot error, discussed at the bottom. This is only my second Hackintosh - first one was almost five years ago and has been my daily driver since.
